What the Farivalhu customer app collects, why we collect it, who can see it, and how to delete it.
Last updated: 30 October 2026
Who this covers
This policy covers the Farivalhu customer app for Android and iOS, and the Farivalhu service behind it. Farivalhu lets you scan the QR code on a restaurant table, see the menu, order together with the people at your table, see and split the bill, and, if you want, keep your bills in one place.
What we collect
When you order at a table
- The name you type when you join a table.
- The items you add to the table’s shared cart, and any notes you write for the kitchen.
- The orders sent from your table, the bill, and the payment method you choose.
You never need an account to order. The restaurant’s staff take payment and mark the bill as paid. The app never asks for your card number.
If you create an account (optional)
- Your email address and password. We store your password only as a one-way hash, never as readable text.
- Your name, if you choose to give it.
If you sign in with Google or Apple instead, they tell us your name, your email address and an account number that identifies you to them. We never see your Google or Apple password. If you choose Apple’s “Hide My Email”, we only receive the private relay address Apple makes for you. If you sign in with Google or Apple using the email of an account you already have, the two are joined into one account and its password is removed, so from then on you sign in with Google or Apple.
Bills you save
- Bills from Farivalhu restaurants that you save after you pay: the restaurant, date, what was ordered, the amounts, and your share if the bill was split.
- Bills you add yourself: where you ate, the amount, the date, a category and a note.
- A photo of a receipt, only if you choose to attach one.
Camera and photos
- Camera: used to scan the QR code on your table. The camera image is read on your phone and is not saved or sent to us. The camera is also used if you choose “Take a photo” for a receipt.
- Photos: the app can only see a photo you pick. That photo is uploaded and attached to the bill you chose. It does not browse your library.
You can turn either permission off at any time in your phone’s Settings. Scanning and receipt photos will then stop working, but nothing else changes.
On your phone
The app keeps your current table session on your phone so your table is still there if you close and reopen the app. If you log in, your login token is kept in your phone’s secure storage until you log out.
Technical records
Like most online services, our hosting providers keep routine server records, such as IP address, the time of a request and the kind of device, to keep the service secure and to fix problems.
Our website
Our public website (this site’s home, contact and privacy pages) uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, using Google’s consent mode. Until you accept in the cookie banner, and if you decline, Google Analytics sets no cookies and only sends Google anonymous signals without cookies or identifiers (that a page was viewed, with your IP address and the kind of browser), which Google uses to estimate overall visits. If you accept, Google also sets cookies in your browser so it can tell repeat visits apart and see the pages you visit. Nothing is used for advertising. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. We use it only to understand and improve the website. It isn’t used in the app, on the table ordering screens or on the staff screens. You can also block it with your browser’s cookie or tracking settings, or with Google’s opt-out add-on.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your personal information.
- We don’t show ads, and the app contains no advertising or analytics trackers. Only our public website uses Google Analytics, as described above.
- We don’t collect your location, contacts or card details.
How we use your information
- To run table ordering: sharing the cart with your table, sending orders to the kitchen and showing the bill.
- To provide My bills: keeping your saved bills, receipt photos and monthly spending by category.
- To keep the service secure, prevent misuse and fix problems.
- To answer you when you contact us.
Who can see it
- The restaurant you order at can see the name you gave, what your table ordered, your notes and the bill. That is how they prepare and serve your order.
- Service providers that host our servers and database process your information for us and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Google receives the website visit information described under “Our website”, under Google’s privacy policy.
- Anyone else only if the law requires it, for example a valid legal request.
Your saved bills and receipt photos are tied to your account and the app only shows them to you when you are logged in.
Deleting your account and your choices
You can delete your account yourself inside the app: open My bills, tap your initial at the top right, choose Delete my account and enter your password (or confirm with Google or Apple if that’s how you sign in). This permanently deletes your account, every bill you saved and every receipt photo. It can’t be undone.
A table’s order records, such as what was ordered and the bill total, are the restaurant’s business records and are separate from your account, so deleting your account does not remove them.
Deleting your account doesn’t remove Farivalhu from your Google or Apple account settings; you can remove it there yourself at any time. If you can’t use the app, or you want a copy of your information, or want something corrected, contact us at our contact page and we will help.
Security
Information travels between the app and our servers over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, passwords are stored as hashes, and sign-ins with Google or Apple are checked against their published signing keys. No system is perfectly secure, so please choose a password you don’t use anywhere else.
Children
The app is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. For big changes we may also tell you in the app.
